AboutAligaloo

A Brooklyn marketing and product agency, built to work beyond the usual boundaries.

Aligaloo is an independent marketing and product agency based in Brooklyn, New York, working with companies and teams around the world.

We bring together marketing strategy, brand, content, digital experience and product development to solve the problems that don’t always fit neatly into one discipline. Our clients come to us when they need senior thinking, specialized expertise or a team that can move from figuring out the right direction to actually building what comes next.

We work closely with the people already inside the business, bringing our experience and expertise together with their knowledge and context. We add perspective, make connections across disciplines and bring the capabilities needed to move the work forward.

01Origin

Why Aligaloo?

Aligaloo (ah-LIG-ah-loo) was our co-founder’s imaginary friend growing up. Years later, the name found a new life as an agency built around curiosity, possibility and making ideas real.

That spirit still shapes how we work. We’re interested in what a company could do next, but just as interested in what it already has to work with. A good strategy doesn’t always require starting over. Sometimes the better answer is sitting somewhere in the business already, waiting for someone to recognize it, connect it to something else or give it the attention it deserves.

That’s why we listen before we prescribe. We get to know the business, the people, the customers and the realities around the work, then determine what will actually be useful.

Aligaloo has evolved along with the market, expanding the way we think and work as new technologies, platforms and audience behaviors change what marketing requires. AI is part of that evolution now, and we’re interested in where it can genuinely improve how the work gets done and how brands connect with their audiences.

02Structure

Senior thinking without the traditional agency structure.

Aligaloo was designed to flex around the work. Depending on the engagement, we may act as a strategic marketing advisor, fractional marketing leader, product partner or integrated agency team.

We draw from a trusted network of senior strategists, brand and content specialists, designers, UX and product experts, developers, digital marketers and other specialists. That lets us build teams around the problem instead of selling clients whatever happens to be on an agency roster.

It also means we can stay close to the work. The people thinking about the problem are involved in solving it, and our clients know who they’re working with.

What we bring to the table

Our work spans marketing strategy and fractional marketing leadership, brand positioning and messaging, content strategy, digital marketing, campaign development, UX and digital experience, website strategy and development, product strategy and product development, go-to-market planning, paid media, search and growth marketing.

Sometimes we own an initiative from strategy through execution. Sometimes we strengthen an internal team at a critical moment. Sometimes we solve one very specific problem and leave the team better equipped to take it from there.

The shape of the engagement changes. The way we work doesn’t: understand what’s there, identify what matters and build from there.

03Reach

Brooklyn based. Globally minded.

Our founders are based in Brooklyn, but Aligaloo has never been limited by geography. We work with businesses, teams and partners across markets, cultures and time zones, bringing an international perspective to brand strategy, marketing, digital products and communications.

That perspective is personal, too. Linette works across English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, which brings another layer of cultural awareness to the way we listen, communicate and think about audiences.

For global companies, that matters. Translating a marketing idea from one market to another isn’t simply a matter of changing the words. Context matters, people matter and the assumptions behind a strategy matter.

Scott Horowitz

Co-Founder

Scott brings marketing experience, operational discipline and organizational leadership to Aligaloo. He co-founded the agency, then Work Ethic NYC, in 2007, working across strategy, digital marketing, search, campaigns and brand before moving into senior leadership roles in New York’s nonprofit and education sectors. Today, he leads capital projects and real estate initiatives for a growing charter school network while helping shape the systems and strategy behind Aligaloo. A builder at heart, Scott brings practical thinking to ambitious ideas and understands what it takes to make them work.

Beyond Aligaloo | Building with Scott

Scott’s work extends deeply into the nonprofit and education sectors, where he has led programs, development, real estate initiatives and organizational growth across New York City. That experience shapes how he thinks about what comes next: how organizations evolve, where new tools and technology can create meaningful leverage, and how ambitious ideas become practical systems people can actually use. He brings a builder’s mindset to change, grounded in what will make the organization stronger.

05Beliefs

What we believe about good work.

  1. 01

Good marketing starts with understanding the business, not choosing a channel.

  2. 02

A strong brand should make the company easier to understand, not give it more things to say.

  3. 03

Digital should evolve with the business. Good digital work builds on what’s working, fixes what isn’t and creates room for what comes next. It makes it easier for your audience to understand, experience and act on what you have to offer.

  4. 04

The best agency relationships shouldn't feel particularly “agency” at all. They should feel like having smart, capable people working beside you who care about getting to the right answer.

  5. 05

The way we work should evolve as the market does. New technologies change what’s possible, but they don’t replace good thinking. We explore new tools, including AI, where they can make the work smarter, faster or more useful, while staying focused on what the business and its audience actually need.
